So I just got back from the Polaris Convention up here in Toronto ON Canada. This was about my 7th or 8th convention I have gone to in an effort to sell some prints. The reality is, up till yet I havent come up with a good way to display AND I am frankly not much of a salesman. I tend to "brood". Im a "brooder" (that ones for you Katrina). I seriously think I should hire some attractive saleswoman type with an easy smile and infectious laugh and let her go nuts. A friend has done something similar and had nothing but success-unfortunately that sales lady is already spoken for. Has anyone else tried sales at cons? Anyone know any working system to get the money rolling in? I mean its not like I dont have intrest. A wack load of people told me how good my work was- but then walked on and picked up steampunk goggles or chainmail dicebags (both of which I would have picked up as well if I was so stubborn).
I know I need to keep trying but its frustrating. Im still attempting to sell some of those initial prints I created and paid for 8 cons ago.
The second of the pics I mentioned in my other entries (the demoness) is coming-just ran into some hitches with ground clutter. Basically i need large areas of black and frankly I put so much graphite down already I just dont think it will work. Its pribably best to scan it and use photoshop to fill those areas in although that certainly makes my origional of dubious value.
Anyways, I will stop rambling now. Speak soon.
